CHICAGO STYLE FOOD @UNO PIZZERIA
After a long day at Magic Kingdom this past Tuesday and in all honesty having spent a lot more money than expected at the theme park, we opted to have dinner at a nearby restaurant that would not hurt our pockets. On our way to our hotel when we first arrived in Orlando, Florida we passed by a UNO PIZZERIA & GRILL. I recall eating at a Uno Pizzeria back in the early 90’s and loving the food that I had ordered, I wondered if it was the same restaurant and told my family that before our mini vacation was over we would try it out, so we did.
This location was about 3 minutes from our hotel in a nearby shopping center. The restaurant was empty so it was perfect as we just wanted to eat and go back to our hotel to rest. We were seated right away and our professional and attentive server Stephent came over welcomed us and took our drink order. Everything on the menu looked delicious but the appetizer that called our attention was the Muchos Nachos- tortilla chips, black olives, banana peppers, jalapeno, beef chilli, mozzarella, pico de gallo and sour cream. You can order guacamole on the side if you so wish, of course, being an avocado lover, I ordered it.
I have to say that our server was so watchful that our drinks never once were not filled, the refills just kept coming(yes, free refills).
After glancing at the menus a few times because we were not sure what to order as everything looked delicious, we gave our order to Stephen.
I ordered their Deep Dish Macaroni & Cheese as I have always wanted to taste baked mac & cheese. Uno Pizzeria’s baked mac & cheese had a crispy crust, three kind of cheeses, cheddar, parmesan and romano.
My husband also ordered pasta, he ordered The Romano Crusted Chicken Parmesan dish. He loved it and my son loved the leftover too. Baked chicken covered with romano basil crust with penne pasta.
My youngest son who loves pizza, if I am not mistaken had his very first deep dish pepperoni pizzza(individual size). He loved it and now wants everything deep dish.
My eldest son having skipped breakfast and lunch went for the big meal, the 10 oz Top Sirloin steak with loaded mash potatoes and veggies. Yummy.
I know what you might be thinking, will they have room for desert, well the answer is YES. The kids had already decided from the get go that they wanted to try the Uno Deep Dish Sundae, it resembles the Pizookie from BJ’s restaurant & Brewhouse. The dessert was a giant chocolate chip cookie baked in a deep dish, topped with vanilla ice-cream, whip cream and chocolate sauce.
Overall our dinner was excellent, the service was amazing. I just looked them up on the web and unfortunately, they don’t have any locations here in Miami. Therefore, next time we drive up to Orlando again, will definitely stop there and have dinner.
Price was good too, dinner for the four of us came out to $117.00 with tip included.
